TEDx Talk

Our insecurities are our superpowers.

In September 2018, Communilogue founder and principal Sharon Steed delivered a TEDx talk title “The Power of a Stutter.” She told her story as a person who stutters and the deep emotional component that comes along with the impediment. She discussed her struggles with speech; the way her speech makes her feel; and how - for the longest time - being vulnerable made her feel weak and incapable. Through her journey as a speaker, however, she was able to change her view not only on stuttering, but also on vulnerability and insecurity. She realized her problem wasn’t with stuttering, it was with her feelings surrounding it. Sharon finally realized that being vulnerable was an asset when it came to connecting with others and that her insecurities were quite literally her superpowers.
